New patients

When you come in to see Dr David Pham for the first time, we want you to feel welcome and completely comfortable. We understand that seeing any health professional for the first time can be daunting, even frightening. That’s why we aim to dispel the ‘scary’ myth. We see hundreds of patients, and chances are we’ve already helped someone just like you.

Preparation

You may want to bring the following on your first visit (if applicable):

  • Any private health insurance cover cards

  • X-rays and/or medical tests that you have previously done

  • Medications or supplements you are taking or have been taking

  • Notes or referrals from other health professionals

The more information you can provide, the better we will be able to understand your needs and help you.

If possible, we suggest that you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to stretch.

Initial Consultation

You’ll be met by one of our friendly front desk team members who will guide you through our intake form, after which David will sit down with you and discuss what has brought you in and why you’ve chosen to get help today.

David will go through the necessary Medical and Health History, Physical Examination, and Initial Care (if applicable). He will take the time to really understand you – what’s going on in your body and in your life. His holistic approach will help uncover the real causes of your health issues, not just focus on the superficial symptoms.

You may be given some minor treatment especially in acute cases to give you immediate relief where possible. This includes soft tissue work and joint/muscle mobilizations. This will help to relieve acute symptoms and to ascertain the approach needed for future treatment. David may refer you for additional testing such as X-Rays or Functional Tests to aid in diagnosing problems.

A manual chiropractic adjustment should never be painful or unsafe. David takes all the necessary precautions to ensure it is the best course of treatment for you. Occasionally, some patients will not be adjusted until their follow up visit in order to give David time to review the results of X-rays or other studies.

Your initial consultation will take about 45 minutes. If you'd like to come prepared, you can download our intake form.

Follow-Up Visit

When you return, David will go over any additional testing such as X-Rays and agree with you on a personalised care plan to not only relieve your symptoms but also address the root causes of your problems.

Timeframe for recovery, treatments and lifestyle changes will be discussed, in order to help you reach your goals faster.

The decision is then up to you. If you choose to begin care, you will receive your first chiropractic adjustments and personalised combined treatments.

Chiropractic adjustments are gentle and pain-free. For children and patients who are apprehensive of hands-on adjustments, David can use an activator and other gentle techniques that will relieve pain without any discomfort.

Your second appointment will take approximately 30 minutes.

Continuing Care

Based on your prescribed health plan, David will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure that you reach your desired health goals.

David will perform regular progress exams, to measure your improvements and see what else can be done to help you achieve the best results possible and enjoy a pain-free life. If David determines that someone else is better suited to provide care for you, he will refer you to a different practitioner. He may even recommend working together as a team with other health providers in order to reach your goals faster.
